Hello friends,
I am a little bit sad this week.
I don't want it to sound like "sour grapes" and I do know I am the new kid (so to speak) on the block, but to be so completely shunned at the BAFTA Awards this week was a heavy and undeserved blow in my own humble opinion. I was not fully expecting to win the Best Actor category, but to at least be among the nominees for the Animated Character Award, was not a bit too excessive in my own professional judgement. You must have seen my gut-wrenching performance in my most recent full (even if short) feature film Life of Remo and from all viewers I spoke with (at least a dozen of my most fervent fans at last count), it was described as a totally overwhelming and one-of-a-kind performance, matching those of other stars like Mickey Roarke, Kate Winslet, Heath Ledger and others.
Not wanting to be embarassed on stage without a few words to say, I even prepared a short speech (matching my own height of 6 inches), thanking my Father (Robert), my Godfather (Cliff), my mid-husband (Tim) and all my supporting cast members (whose names for the battery in me I can not remember).
In any case, as reliable industry rumor has it, that the OSCARS nominating committee in spite of what currently appears on their website, won't make the same mistake and you will see me sliding elegantly (as much as remotely - no pun intended - possible) on the red carpet on Feb 22nd, 2009. However if not, you can always vote for me on YouTube as many times as you wish.
AND as always, thank you for your unending support.
And to the many fans (I know of at least two so far) who requested T-Shirts with my image, they will be shortly available, or they will be available in size short, I am not sure which ( in any case - one size fits all).
Speak with you shortly...
(I can't help if I am short, now can I?)
Remo
